Each year, Sion students are encouraged to strut their talents during a day completely devoted to the arts. Fine Arts Day has become an annual celebration in which art shows and musical and dance performances consume the day.
Art work was portrayed all around the school including a sidewalk chalk competition in which this year’s theme was Wizard of Oz. The Siren and AP Art gave a presentation followed by a performance from the infamous Blake School. Following the performance was a school-wide talent show that showcased poetry, singing, and acting.
Junior Sam Ruiz performed a solo as well as a clarinet polka dance song along with her senior sister Lauren Ruiz.
“When we perform, it’s a little crazy,” Ruiz said. “There’s a buzz of excitement and energy before we go on, and there’s absolutely nothing like the feeling of pulling off an awesome performance.”
