To promote the album, first, Tyler, the Creator’s team sent a truck around the US providing food, merch, and photo opportunities, and it blew up on TikTok and promoted the album. People loved the food or were able to take pictures of the truck.
Tyler also released a sneak peek of one of the songs and it was viral on TikTok before the album even came out. People made dances and trends that really caught on.
Another thing that brought in listeners was theories about the music videos and potential features on the songs. People on social media analyzed the St. Chroma music video and saw that the people marching at the beginning of the video resembled other famous artists. One of which was singer Frank Ocean who was thought to be “in hiding” at the moment. This made it so the music video was able to reach 12 million views two days after the album’s release.
The album itself has already become very popular receiving 40 million monthly listeners already. It consists of a lot of popular features like GloRilla, Lil Wayne, Steve Lacy, and many more talented artists.
A lot of Tyler’s songs can reveal personal things about his life such as one song called “Like Him”. In the song, he talks a lot about his relationship with his dad. The song shows how his dad not being in his life has really affected him. This isn’t the first time he has made song lyrics about him though. In his new album, Tyler talks about how he understands more why his dad was kept separate from him. This vulnerability can bring more listeners in and helps listeners with similar stories relate to the songs.
When the album came out there was a huge watch party in Los Angeles Oct. 26, and many celebrities and high-class people attended.
The album itself has a lot of variety in the types of songs. Some of them are more pop and others are rap. They are very catchy and the album itself is very outstanding.
