The Sion varsity soccer team beat Pleasant Hill 4-2 during their home game April 3. This was the teams fifth game of the 2024 season, and their second win.
“It was a really good performance from us,” Senior and Varsity Goalie Grace Kiewiet said. “Even though we were down for a little bit, we came back and ended up winning, which was great. We needed a win against this team, so it was a great time and we’ll eventually have a better spot in districts because of it.”
This win, according to Kiewiet, was a well-deserved team effort and a great motivation for the rest of the season, especially after a series of early losses.
“Mia Hebert carried us, she got a hat trick, which was sick. Jane Lehmann also scored and in defense Taelyn Smith did really well,” Kiewiet said.
With 11 games left in the regular 2024 season, Kiewiet and her teammates have a lot to look forward to and plenty of time to improve their record and make it to districts.
“So I’m excited to be getting back into it,” Kiewiet said. “And by the next couple of games we’re going to be having a really great time.”
